Chloe’s life is just starting! She has graduated from high school, and is getting ready to go off to college after a summer of fun. But one night celebrating with friends and a vengeful ex-boyfriend changes her life forever.
Jayson is excited to start a new semester at college he picks his favorite seat and is ready to tackle the new challenges this class will bring him. Little does he know that the biggest challenge he will have this semester will come in the form of 5’2” Chloe Schaffer.
This debut novel by Melody Dawn will take you on an emotional journey from page one. She has put every emotion into this book. I laughed, I cried, I laughed until I cried. There were times I wanted to jump inside my kindle and just shake Chloe and give Jayson a big hug. Then there were times my heart broke for Chloe and what she is going through.
Chloe, Jayson, Connor and Madison are the four main characters in the story. They are real people living real lives and working through real issues. They could be your friends or neighbors. I found it easy to connect with the characters while reading. Even though the epilogue does a fantastic job of wrapping up the story, Ms. Dawn left you wanting so much more which will come in the form of books 2 and 3 in the Living Series, Living Out Loud and Living On The Edge.
I gave To Live Again five very enthusiastic stars because I could not give any more.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Contemporary Romance novels. I will definitely be on the lookout for more books written by Melody Dawn.

From a story book romance, to a perfect wedding, to a dream job and beautiful twin sons, Jayson and Chloe have the perfect life, and a love that can survive anything. Or do they? Jayson is working long hours to finish residency as an emergency room doctor and Chloe is left alone with their two-year-old twin sons… and her thoughts. When this life that most dream of starts to crumble around them, will their love and connection be strong enough to make it through?
This is Living is the follow-up novella to To Live Again, and book 1.5 in The Living Series. In this story, we catch up with Chloe and Jayson 9 years later. After reading and loving To Live Again I was so excited to find out that there was more to Chloe and Jayson’s story. Ms. Dawn has created in Chloe, Jayson, and the supporting characters like Connor and Madison (Jayson’s twin brother and Chloe’s best friend) and Phillip and Ava (Jayson’s parents), real people that you want to get to know better. They are not your typical romance novel billionaires with no struggles or issues, where everything they’ve ever wanted comes easily. They have to fight hard to get what they want and as a result, are stronger for it. Their lives are filled with happy times, love, loss, accusations, anger, but in the end, their sense of family is what will bring them the healing they need.
This novella is packed with everything you could ever want in a love story. There is happiness, sadness, laughter, anger, tears, despair for loss, and hope for the future. I definitely felt the full range of emotions while reading. There were times I laughed out loud and times I needed several tissues to get through. The story was not only emotion provoking, but thought provoking as well. It will have you thinking about what is most important in life and remind you that you need to make the most of every day because you never know when the things you treasure most will slip away.
I give This is Living a very emotional 5 stars!
